What we're looking forward to at BSidesSF

BSidesSF 2025 is right around the corner (April 26-27), so our team put together this handy guide of can't-miss sessions and events happening throughout the conference. Give it a read, bookmark the talks you want to go to, and get ready for BSides!

 🏫 Sessions we won't be missing

• Appsec as Glue: Building Partnerships to Scale Security (Saturday April 26, 2025 11:15am - 12:00pm PDT) — Just a powerhouse of panel members with immense security experience. Trust when we say we will be *seated* for this one.
• How to Train Your Detection Dragon (Saturday April 26, 2025 11:15am - 12:00pm PDT) — Anyone doing things from scratch has learned something worth noting!
• Into the Dragon's Den (Saturday April 26, 2025 1:00pm - 1:45pm PDT) — Not a ton of US-based security practitioners have had experience with bringing products to the Chinese market; should be an interesting one for sure to hear about their experiences and lessons learned.

• One Search to Rule Them All: Threat Modeling AI Search (Saturday April 26, 2025 2:15pm - 2:45pm PDT) — Threat modeling with AI is quite the challenge, and getting more perspective and insight is definitely worth the time. 
• Fake Hires, Real Threats: When Background Checks Aren't Enough (Saturday April 26, 2025 3:45pm - 4:15pm PDT) — This is becoming a big problem for companies of all sizes, and we're really interested to learn how teams are handling this.
• Service Mesh Security: Shifting Focus to the Application Layer (Saturday April 26, 2025 4:00pm - 4:45pm PDT) — A pragmatic *and* successful service mesh story? We've heard from many teams who have struggled with this implementation, so we're eager to hear how Yelp's team did it.
• BSidesSF Plays Incident Response (Saturday April 26, 2025 4:30pm - 5:00pm PDT) — Maya and Whitney are the greatest puzzle players around, and this choose-your-own-adventure talk is for sure to be a fun and engaging one.
• The Growing Crisis in CVE Data Quality (Sunday April 27, 2025 11:15am - 11:45am PDT):  CVE data is "totally cooked" to quote Evan, so learning what solutions exist to restore trust here is going to be really interesting. 
• AI's Bitter Lesson for SOCs: Let Machines Be Machines (Sunday April 27, 2025 1:15pm - 2:00pm PDT)  — Learning how Anthropic is enabling security practitioners tackle nuanced work while automating security problems with AI? We're locked in.
• 15 years of BSidesSF: Behind the Scenes AMA (Sunday April 27, 2025 3:15pm - 4:00pm PDT) — Fifteen (15!) years of BSidesSF,  aren't you glad we aren't in the DNA Lounge anymore?
